Hey girl, hey!

I'm Nubia,

A single mom of two young adults who was depressed, burned out and in need of change. Back in 2016, I got laid off and TIRED of being tired! All I wanted to do was travel slowly and enjoy living my life. It was difficult for me to let go of the notion that my value and worth was dependent solely on my income, my title and my status. I was turning 40 and was at a crossroads in my life. That's when I decided it was now or never!

I needed to chase my dream of traveling the world.

When I started researching online about becoming an expat. I didn’t see anyone who looked like me. There were no stories of GenX professionals traveling and living abroad. Everyone seemed to be a millennial, fresh from college and living on $10 a day.

I had decided to share my story and the stories of other travelers who were living and thriving abroad and Chronicles Abroad was born. A travel podcast that's been featured in Travel and Leisure and heard in 95 countries around the world. Fast forward to 2020. In 3 short years, I've travelled extensively throughout South East Asia and have lived on 3 continents, including Medellin, Colombia and most recently Tulum, Mexico. I am an International speaker, expat coach, the Director of a luxury travel company and the creator of a few popular Facebook groups designed to help Black Americans move abroad.

I'm on a personal mission to inspire and encourage GenX professionals to stop waiting for permission to chase their dreams, to get out of their comfort zone and explore the world through my group coaching program Novice 2 Nomad.
